Hi. Sorry to hear you had that experience. I've never had a bad experience in Australia. I would feed my son anywhere when he was a baby however I always preferred using parents rooms as it was a good time out from whatever I was doing and the quietness would mean my bub fed better without distractions. In the US on the other hand I was often asked if I'd prefer to go somewhere private to feed him and was told once he was too old to breastfeed (at 10.5 months). Now at 21 months we have a rule that he never gets to feed during the day (unless he's really distraught/sick) and definitely never feeds except at home. It's not that I worry about feeding him in public as a toddler, more that we're trying to slowly and gently wean him and boundary setting is helping the process.
